The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
A pair of great blue herons in mating season. The male collects nesting materials and hands them over to the female who applies them to the nest. Sometimes the female is not interested in the twigs that the male collects and does not take them over. The male drops them after a minute or so and goes to fetch new ones. This photo shows that the female is greatly impressed by the twig and eagerly takes it over. The male is very proud of his work and reluctant to let it go.
